This is interesting - you be the judge... the only way to know is to try it.

> There is a very tasty and simple food product that can help your
friend or family member with diabetes that was published in Life
Extension Magazine issue Special Winter Edition 2007-2008. This food
lowers blood pressure, cleans clogged arteries and lowers blood sugar
levels. I will explain what it is in a minute. I had a friend last
year that suddenly could not see words on paper he was trying to
read, his BP was way up and he was not feeling well. The year
before last he had been diagnosed with diabetes and lost his pilot's
license. However he was in denial that he had diabetes. When his
vision became impaired last year I was in his store and he asked me
about it. I suggested he see a doctor immediately. . which he did.
Diabetes was confirmed as was his BP problem. Even with meds he was
not controlled.

> Just prior to this time I had a discussion with a friend who lived
near University of Arizona. They have a medical school there. My
friend was at breakfast overhearing some of the professors from the
medical school talking. One of them said to the other.. I was
supposed to have bypass surgery but now I dont have to... the others
asked why (he was also diabetic). He stated that he had been taking
a heaping spoonful or so of Hershey's unsweetened Cocoa daily in a
breakfast drink and that the studies showed that his arteries were
clearing up and no longer required surgery and that his blood sugar
was now under control.
>
> In view of the above discussion I suggested to the guy that I knew
that he start on the Hershey's unsweetened cocoa or on unsweetened
dark chocolate. (You chocolate lovers out there now you know that
chocolate is really good for you). When my friend started eating a
couple of squares of dark unsweetened chocolate just before bed time
his sugars dropped to normal range and his BP normalized. He also
got his pilot's license back because he had a major eye correction
and his vision became normal again.

> So, I suggest you might buy some unsweetened dark chocolate or
cocoa for the person that has diabetes and see what happens.
Diabetics usually have circulation problems so this should help that
issue as well as lowering his blood pressure. So there are 6 major
benefits of Cocoa polyphenols (from the magazine article noted
above) : It improves blood flow through vasodilation, reduces
platelet aggregation, improves insulin sensitivity, is an
antioxidant, improves cognitive performance and in a 15 year study
showed an inverse relationship between cocoa intake and
cardiovascular death and all cause mortality.
>
> This is great information because at Fry's here in Arizona
Hershey's unsweetened cocoa powder is $3.99 and the special dark
chocolate unsweetened is $4.99 a can. Since I am a chocolate lover I
thought I would pass this on to you and everyone on the forum. I
take it daily in my morning protein drink to keep my arteries and BP
in the normal range.
