As usual, feel free to discuss about anything you like, but this is my suggestion for the day . . .

INFINITY AND THE MIND

This is actually the title of a book by a mathematician (Rudy Rucker) discussing every kind of infinity: potential and actual, mathematical and physical, theological and mundane . . . In the author's words: "Talking about infinity leads to many fascinating paradoxes. By closely examining these paradoxes we learn a great deal about the human mind, its powers, and its limitations."

It feel good to know that, even though a topic is in place, we can expound, as well as, venture off into other realms which usually comes from the original topic of discussion. And with the different views and individual backgrounds, it still stays peaceful, fun, and uplifting..

This was a marvelous group of meta-physicians with diverse points of view but a common love for social discourse and fellowship. Please se my follow-up post I promised on our message boards at [URL=http://metaphysics.meetup.c...#]

We ended up talking more about the mind than about infinity :-). There were different opinons, but everybody had something interesting to say.

You will be surprised, there is not just one infinity, but a whole (infinite) hierarchy of infinites . . .

Last time I said "Yea" and wound up having to go a funeral. I feel guilty about breaking commitments, so "Maybe" will have to do this time, although infinity is an intriguing subject. Question: "Is there anything behyond infinity?" Eli
