Feed Homeless at Balboa Park on Saturday Mornings

10:30 AM - 1:30 PM - Come ANYTIME during this time frame to help set up, bring food and donations and distribute them to the homeless and to share food with the other attendees and the homeless. From 10:30am - 11:30am, there is a time of worship with the homeless while the volunteers set up the food station. If you don't want to attend that, come at 11:30am or noon when the homeless and volunteers will all share a meal together.

Join us in Balboa Park for a great afternoon! We meetup with the people from The Rock Church at 10:45AM near the corner of 6th Street and Grape Street in Balboa Park in downtown San Diego. There are usually about 40-50 people who show up to feed the homeless and about 150 homeless people show up to eat. This is an event that will be happening every Saturday and they are always looking for volunteers, so just show up when you can!

The organizers will grill hot dogs or serve a main course meal, along with fruit, chips, cookies, juice and water and provide donated or purchased clothes, shoes, backpacks, sleeping bags, blankets, and other essential items. Feel free to bring the entire family. We will be there RAIN or SHINE! We hope to see you soon!

Examples of stuff to bring: Soft fruit and soft granola bars (as many of the homeless do not have healthy teeth), juice boxes, cases of bottled water, bags of chips and cookies, boiled eggs, napkins, paper towels. Also donations of toiletries, clothes and other essential items that the homeless would need to live on the street and sleeping bags, blankets, etc.
